FAQs

We’ve got answers to help you understand how it all works.

No.
The Flämingo Accelerator is equity-free.

The Flämingo Startup Hub is the broader ecosystem platform. It supports entrepreneurship in Brandenburg through open events, free workshops, networking formats, regional collaborations, and community building for local and international founders.

The Flämingo Accelerator is a structured six-month growth programme within the Hub, designed for startups in mobility, health and the creative industries. It offers cluster-specific expertise, mentorship and coaching, access to corporate and investor networks, on-site founder phases, and a fully funded two-week residency for selected startups.

In short: the Hub builds the ecosystem. The Accelerator supports selected growth-stage startups within it.

Applications are open from 5 October to 22 November 2026.

The programme is conducted in English, and applications are submitted in English. You do not need to speak German to take part — though we’ll happily help you navigate the German paperwork when it comes up.

No. It is a flexible six-month hybrid programme designed for founders who are actively building their company.
There are three mandatory in-person phases, plus a two-week residency at the Hub for selected startups.

Yes, we welcome founders who have participated in other programs, as long as the stage and goals align with Flämingo.

You do not need to be based in Brandenburg when you apply, and most of the founders in the programme arrived from somewhere else — Paris, Vienna, Berlin and beyond.

However, selected startups  who aren’t based in Brandenburg must:

• Be willing to register a business entity or branch in Brandenburg before the program starts.

Flämingo provides location (company address) and registration support.

The Hub is located at COCONAT — a workation retreat, about an hour from Berlin.

All participants attend three in-person phases:

• Founders Retreat — 16–19 February 2027
• Founders On-Site — 13–14 May 2027
• Closing — 12–13 August 2027

In addition, a limited number of startups are invited to a fully funded two-week residency at the Hub: a dedicated deep-dive period to step out of the daily noise, sharpen your strategy, and build alongside other founders.

During the programme, all core in-person phases — the Founders Retreat, the Founders On-Site, the Closing, and the two-week residency — are fully funded.

That includes accommodation, three vegetarian meals a day, and full access to the coworking facilities and community spaces. Accommodation and meals outside the funded periods can be booked independently if you’d like to stay longer.

Selected founders also become members of the Flämingo Startup Hub, which gives you free access to the coworking facilities for two years after the programme ends. After that, continued access is €60 per month.

No.
