The Health Cluster is for startups reimagining healthcare in rural areas, not in isolation, but connected with mobility, care, prevention, social participation, work, housing, and digital infrastructure. Healthcare today is far more than medical care: It’s an essential public services that deeply impact all aspects of life.
The Market:
Rural healthcare faces enormous challenges: doctor shortages, long distances, and missing infrastructure. At the same time, digital applications and home tests open new possibilities to bring diagnostics and care directly to people—without waiting times, without barriers.

The program consists of 4 flexible
modules you can combine based on your needs:
Module 1*: Technology & R&D – From Idea to Prototype
- Lab Infrastructure Access – Test innovative concepts under real conditions
- Technology Access – Broad spectrum of tech for development & validation
- Pre-experiments & Pilot Studies – Test hypotheses, gain insights, create a foundation for market launch
*Access to this module is limited and tailored to the needs of the startups. An additional agreement for the use of the laboratory infrastructure is required and will be coordinated individually between the startups and Fraunhofer IZI-BB.
Module 2: Market Access Strategies – Healthcare Market Entry Done Right
